About

The Dark Isle Minecraft server is a survival multiplayer aka "SMP" that strives to be vanilla like in gameplay but adds quality of life improvements and fun gameplay options.

We may add or remove these tweaks depending on how the community wants to play in the world and how they impact our game.

Paper vs Vanilla

The server runs on a fork of Paper called Purpur that adds fun customizable gameplay tweaks that add optional "flavor" to the game.

Paper and Purpur are enhanced versions of the game that add bug fixes, optional gameplay tweaks, plugins, and much needed performance improvements.

In the Minecraft modding community there are Plugins and Mods. The terminology can be confusing so this article does a great job of explaining the difference. Just know this server runs on plugins so when making suggestions make sure its a plugin and not a mod.
